
Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City – On July 13, 2025 at 2:45 PM, a kidnapped Chinese national, was successfully rescued during an anti-kidnapping operations launched by the Luzon Field Unit (LFU), PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
The operations led to the arrest of twelve Chinese and Filipino nationals. The victim, a businessman engaged in construction supply seller and a resident of Taguig City, was safely rescued during the said operations.
As a background, on July 3, 2025, a complaint was lodged before this Group by the victim’s cousin, concerning the alleged kidnapping that transpired on July 1, 2025 at around 6:40 PM in front of Coastal Luxury Residences, Parañaque City.
Acting swiftly, AKG took cognizance of the case, and an immediate police operations were conducted. The kidnappers demanded ransom from the victim’s family in China making them helpless to send an unconfirmed amount thru online transfer with a cryptocurrency account provided by the kidnappers. At the meantime, the victim who was held for almost two weeks was accorded appropriate assistance. Meanwhile, AKG operatives, are conducting hot pursuit operations to track down and arrest other suspects who remain at large.
