Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City – Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) rescued a 78-year-old businesswoman who was kidnapped in Quezon City and arrested eleven suspects behind the crime. The victim was abducted on September 2, 2025, after she left her office in Mauban, Quezon City on board her vehicle. Her family later received ransom demand of 500 million pesos.

AKG immediately took cognizance of the case after the logging the complaint by the victim’s brother to AKG. Immediate investigation was held and follow-up operations was launched. On September 11, 2025, the victim was rescued inside a bank in Quezon City where three suspects were arrested on the spot. Subsequent operations in Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, and National Capital Region led to the arrest of eight more suspects, including three insiders who were former AFP members. The victim’s vehicle that was abandoned was recovered on September 6, 2025 in Taytay, Rizal.

Recovered evidence included part of the ransom money amounting to Php490,000.00, a Toyota Avanza with improvised plate, three motorcycles, and several firearms including a Glock 23 Gen 5, Colt pistol, Beretta PX4 Storm, a Caliber .45 Armscor, and an AR-15 rifle. All members of the kidnap-for-ransom group are now in custody and criminal charges are being prepared.
