The Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG), led by PBGEN GLICERIO C CANSILAO, Director, AKG, conducted a coordination meeting with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) headed by ATTY. JOEL ANTHONY M. VIADO, Commissioner, held at the BI Main Office, Magallanes Drive, Intramuros, Manila on February 12, 2026.

Also present during the activity were PCOL TELESFORO DOMINGO III, Chief, OMD; PLTCOL NESTOR CUSI, Chief, IRAD; PLTCOL LESLIE M BEJARIN, Chief, IEFLD; PMAJ JONATHAN RABANAL and PCPT RYAN ALBURO, SLO, along with key officials from both agencies.

The coordination meeting highlighted the Bureau of Immigration’s vital role in assisting both victims and suspects involved in Kidnapping-for-Ransom (KFR) cases, particularly in matters concerning immigration records, monitoring of foreign nationals, border control measures, and issuance of appropriate immigration actions.

This strengthened collaboration between the AKG and BI reinforces the government’s unified approach in combating kidnapping syndicates, preventing transnational crimes, and ensuring that perpetrators, whether local or foreign, are held accountable under Philippine laws.

Through sustained inter-agency cooperation, the PNP-AKG and the Bureau of Immigration remain steadfast in their shared commitment to protect the public, support victims, and uphold justice.
