The Philippine National Police – Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP AKG) successfully arrested a wanted person for the crime of Kidnapping on March 3, 2026, at about 6:00 PM, in Barangay 7, Tondo, Manila.

Arrested was Saipoden Avon Bari a.k.a. Popoy, 37 years old, married, residing in Barangay 7, Tondo, Manila. Bari has active Warrants of Arrest for Kidnapping issued on April 11, 2019 under Criminal Case No. 7270-14, and Murder, under Criminal Case No. 7271-14 both issued by Hon. Sittie Laarni R. Umpa, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 9, Marawi City, with no bail recommended.

The operation was conducted by personnel from the PNP AKG Mindanao Field Unit (MFU) and Luzon Field Unit (LFU) in coordination with the Regional Tactical Operations Center, NCRPO, and barangay officials of Barangay 7, Tondo, Manila.

Earlier attempts to apprehend Bari in March 2021 by the AKG MFU Iligan Satellite Office and other PNP units in Piagapo, Lanao del Sur, resulted in the neutralization of suspect Kadafy Ayonan under the approved COPLAN β€œCAST AWAY.” Follow-up coordination confirmed that Bari had since relocated to Tondo, Manila, leading to his successful arrest.
