Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City – The Anti-Kidnapping Group proudly celebrated its 14th Founding Anniversary on March 19, 2026, at CESPO Multipurpose Hall, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City marking over a decade of unwavering commitment to public safety, operational excellence, and service to the Filipino people.

With the theme, “AKG: Alalay, Kaagapay, at Gabay ng Mamamayan Tungo sa Serbisyong Tapat, Mabilis, at Nararamdaman sa Pagliligtas ng Buhay sa Bagong Pilipinas,” highlighted the organization’s continuing mission to serve as a reliable protector of communities and a steadfast partner in nation-building.

The event was graced by distinguished officials, partner-agencies, stakeholders, and members of the media, led by the Guest of Honor and Speaker, PBGEN PONCE ROGELIO I PEÑONES JR, The Acting Director for Operations, who underscored the significance of the occasion as he acknowledged the role of the AKG in its contribution in nation building. In his message, he commended the AKG for its relentless efforts in addressing evolving crimes brought by the advent of technology while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Under the leadership of PBGEN GLICERIO C CANSILAO, Director, AKG, the organization has achieved significant operational milestones over the past year. These include the successful conduct of law enforcement operations, resulting in the rescue

of ten (10) kidnapping for ransom victims and the arrest of forty-two (42) suspects. Additionally, sixteen (16) wanted persons were apprehended, while one (1) high-profile KFR suspect voluntarily surrendered. Further accomplishments include the arrest of two hundred one (201) other wanted persons involved in various criminal offenses. Moreover, a total of sixty (60) firearms, eight ( explosives, and four hundred ninety-two (492) assorted ammunition were recovered, confiscated, or surrendered during operations, which are the result of strengthened intelligence capabilities, and enhanced collaboration with its international and local stakeholders.

A highlight of the celebration is the recognition of outstanding personnel and partners whose invaluable contributions have greatly advanced the mission of the AKG. Awards were conferred to exemplary officers, non-commissioned personnel, and civilian counterparts who demonstrated exceptional performance, commitment, and bravery in the line of duty.

In his remarks, PBGEN CANSILAO, emphasized that the anniversary is not only a celebration of achievements, but also a reaffirmation of the organization’s duty to the people. He called on all personnel to remain steadfast in their mandate. “As we celebrate 14 years of service, we honor the sacrifices of those who came before us and draw strength from our shared mission. Let this milestone inspire us to push further, serve better, and protect stronger,” he said.
