A new chapter of committed leadership begins at the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group as PBGEN EDWIN C BALLES formally assumes office as Director, AKG during the Turn-Over and Assumption of Office Ceremony held at Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City.

A former PACER operative and seasoned anti-kidnapping officer, PBGEN BALLES returns to the unit where his journey in anti-kidnapping operations began β€” bringing with him decades of experience, courage, and dedication in protecting lives and pursuing justice.

In his message, PBGEN BALLES emphasized that AKG’s mission is more than law enforcement β€” it is about restoring hope, protecting families, and bringing home victims alive.

β€œI accept this responsibility with clarity of purpose: to sustain reduction of kidnapping for ransom cases, to bring offenders to justice, and above all, to bring home victims alive.”

Under his leadership, AKG remains steadfast in its commitment to swift, focused, and relentless operations against kidnapping and related criminal activities in line with the Chief PNP’s mantra:

β€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas, Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
