Under the leadership of PBGEN EDWIN C BALLES, Acting Director, AKG, the Mindanao Field Unit conducted a Seminar on the Role of the Police and the Barangay in Kidnapping-for-Ransom (KFR) Prevention at Barangay Guisao, Zamboanga City.

The activity gathered barangay officials, purok leaders, barangay tanods, employees, and community stakeholders to enhance awareness on crime prevention and community security.

Discussions focused on the mandates of the AKG, the importance of police-community collaboration, and the advocacy campaign “Barkada Kita: A Unified Crime Prevention Advocacy,” which promotes vigilance, responsible citizenship, and collective action against criminality.

The seminar further strengthened public trust and confidence in law enforcement while equipping participants with knowledge and practical strategies to prevent kidnapping incidents and other crimes.

A total of 30 IEC materials containing anti-KFR information, safety tips, and hotline numbers were distributed to support the advocacy.

Together, AKG and the community remain steadfast in building safer and more resilient communities.
