Underscoring the vital role of collaboration in safeguarding public safety and security, PBGEN EDWIN C BALLES, Acting Director of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP AKG), served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Movement for Restoration of Peace and Order (MRPO) General Membership Meeting held on July 18, 2026, at the KAISA Heritage Center, Intramuros, Manila.

Present during the event were the MRPO Founding Chairman Teresita Ang-See, Chairman Melvin Dy, PCM Ka Kuen Chua, and members of the Execom, along with other distinguished guests and members committed to advancing peace, order, and community development.

In his keynote address, PBGEN BALLES emphasized that achieving lasting peace and order is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of government agencies, civic organizations, the private sector, and the public. He highlighted the importance of a united and proactive approach in addressing security concerns and fostering safer communities nationwide.

PBGEN BALLES likewise recognized the invaluable contributions of the MRPO in promoting responsible citizenship, strengthening community engagement, and supporting law enforcement initiatives aimed at maintaining public safety and security.

During the event, he provided an overview of the PNP AKG’s continuing efforts to combat kidnapping through intelligence-driven operations, swift law enforcement interventions, successful victim rescue initiatives, and strengthened coordination with partner agencies and key stakeholders. He reaffirmed the organization’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives, preserving public safety, and ensuring the security of communities across the country.
