As part of its continuing commitment to enhancing international law enforcement cooperation and strategic partnerships, the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP AKG), under the leadership of PBGEN EDWIN C BALLES, Director, AKG, welcomed representatives of the British Embassy during a courtesy meeting held on July 8, 2026 at the Office of the Director, AKG, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City.

The meeting was attended by the members of the AKG Command Group, Division Chiefs, and Servicing Legal Officer (SLO). The key highlights of the engagement was the formal introduction of the newly designated Liaison Officer, who will assume post following the completion of the outgoing liaison officer’s 5-year tenure at the end of July.

The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, enhancing information sharing mechanism, and further reinforcing coordinated efforts in addressing kidnap-for-ransom incidents involving foreign nationals, transnational crimes, and other emerging security challenges. Both parties reaffirmed the importance of sustained collaboration in promoting public safety and combating criminal activities that transcend national borders.

Through strong partnerships with international counterparts, the AKG continues to enhance its operational readiness, intelligence capabilities and law enforcement effectiveness ensuring the safety and security of both Filipino people and members of the international community.

This initiative likewise supports the thrust of PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ JR, Chief, Philippine National Police, in advancing intelligence-driven policing, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting proactive law enforcement strategies toward a safer, more secure, and peaceful Philippines.
