The Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP AKG) successfully concluded the Hostage Negotiation Course that formally recognized the completion of the training and the declaration of its graduates. The culmination was graced by PBGEN FRANCISCO B EBREO, Acting Director, Philippine National Police Training Service (PNPTS), assisted by PCOL ALVIN R CONSOLACION, Deputy Director for Administration, AKG, who represented PBGEN EDWIN C BALLES, Director, AKG.

The ceremony highlighted the participants’ successful completion of the course, which focused on strengthening their knowledge, skills, and capabilities in hostage negotiation, crisis communication, decision-making, and the proper handling of critical incidents involving the safety and security of individuals.

In his message, PBGEN EBREO emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge and skills gained from the training with discipline, professionalism, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to preserving lives. He underscored that effective hostage negotiation requires patience, clear communication, emotional control, and the ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure.

The declaration of the graduates marks not only the completion of their training but also the beginning of their responsibility to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired and translate them into real-life situations. The course serves as a significant capability-building initiative that prepares PNP personnel to effectively respond to hostage-taking incidents and other similar crisis situations where negotiation plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of all those involved.

The PNP AKG likewise recognized the importance of continuous training and capability development in strengthening its readiness especially in responding to kidnapping and hostage-related incidents.

Through this training the AKG continues to enhance its operational capabilities and reinforce its commitment to protecting lives, resolving crises, and delivering professional police service.
